A Positive Growth Plan 2024-2028
Together we will continue the Momentum of Positive Growth for A Stronger Port Hawkesbury

A Town on the Move
PortHawkesbury
“The Town has accomplished a lot in the 8 years I have served as mayor. Priorities over the past 8 years on our council have been in the areas of health care recruitment and retention, housing, economic development, waterfront development and recreation and active transportation.
This website will provide an overview of the progress we have made over the past 8 years, as well as an overview of a growth plan to continue the momentum of positive growth.
I am seeking your support for a third term as your Mayor, because I have the education, experience, and skills to lead a new council of your choosing for the 2024-2029 Term.”
Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton

Our region is on the verge of a green energy boom. To benefit Port Hawkesbury, we must enhance our housing initiatives to attract private developers to house a growing workforce, seniors, families, and students. Collaborating on non-profit affordable housing is essential for providing homes for all income levels. We need to focus on economic development, supporting existing businesses and attracting new ones (including business parks). Increasing Town revenues is crucial for reinvesting in infrastructure like roads and sidewalks and facilitating business and population growth. New housing, businesses, and innovative revenue strategies are key to our Town’s future. While many residents struggle post-COVID, raising the tax rate is not the solution.
